Chicken Korma (low fat)

 

Cooking Time:  30 minutes

Serves: 4 people

Ingredients

  • 500 gm Chicken breast pieces
  • 1 cup yoghurt-low fat
  • 2 big onions-chopped fine
  • 2 big tomatoes-chopped fine
  • 3 garlic cloves-pasted, or finely cut
  • 1 inch grated ginger-pasted or finely cut
  • 3 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 2 cloves
  • ½  tsp chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp cashew and poppy seeds paste
  • 3 tbsp sun flower oil
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Few mint, coriander leaves

Method:

  1. Mix chicken pieces with yoghurt, chopped onion, chopped tomato, garlic paste, ginger paste, coriander powder, green cardamoms, cloves, chilli powder, salt, cinnamon stick, pepper powder, cashew and poppy seeds paste.
  2. Mix this well and marinate for 30 mins.
  3. Take a sauce pan , heat oil ,add the marinated chicken pieces with the marinade, coconut milk, coconut ,few mint and coriander leaves.  Cook this up to 20 mins on medium heat after which sprinkle 1 tsp lemon juice on top.

Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, it now ready to eat
